Ambassador of Japan to Russia Visits the Itchiku Kubota Museum and Discusses Future Cultural Exchanges

Tokyo, Japan – The International Chodiev Foundation (ICF) is pleased to announce that the Ambassador of Japan to Russia, Mr Akira Muto, and his wife, Ms Misako Muto, visited the Itchiku Kubota Museum to learn more about the extraordinary life of Itchiku Kubota, a visionary Japanese artist.

The visit included a guided tour led by the museum’s Director, Mr. Sakuo Miyahara, showcasing the artist’s magnificent collections.

After the tour, the guests enjoyed a traditional tea ceremony featuring matcha and Japanese sweets in the museum’s tea room. The atmosphere was filled with appreciation for the unique works and cultural heritage of Itchiku Kubota.

During the visit, Ambassador Muto expressed a keen interest in promoting cultural exchange between the two nations. He mentioned plans to exhibit the renowned ‘Itchiku Tsujigahana’ works at one of Russia’s art museums next year.

“I was moved to see this wonderful museum. I would like the citizens of Moscow to see Mr. Kubota’s work,” the Ambassador noted in the museum’s guest book. Mrs. Muto added, “It was a dreamlike space,” highlighting the impactful experience they shared at the museum.

The visit was not only a moment of cultural appreciation but also an opportunity to strengthen ties between Japan and Russia through art.

The ICF looks forward to future collaborations and cultural initiatives that will engage and inspire both Japanese and Russian audiences.
