Itchiku Kubota Art Museum Named Among World’s Top 10% Attractions in 2025 Travelers’ Choice Awards

The Itchiku Kubota Art Museum has been ranked among the top 10% of tourist attractions worldwide, following its recognition in the Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards 2025.

The annual award celebrates cultural landmarks, destinations, hotels, and restaurants that consistently earn exceptional traveler reviews over a 12-month period. This year’s accolade highlights the museum’s growing reputation as one of Japan’s most distinctive cultural experiences.

Located near Lake Kawaguchi with sweeping views of Mount Fuji, the museum is dedicated to the life and work of textile artist Itchiku Kubota (1917–2003). Kubota is best known for reviving Tsujigahana, a lost 16th-century kimono dyeing technique, and for creating the monumental kimono series ‘Symphony of Light’, which portrays the grandeur of nature and the cosmos across hand-dyed silk garments.
