ICF scholarship award ceremony took place at MGIMO-Tashkent

The official ICF scholarship award ceremony took place at MGIMO-Tashkent today.

MGIMO Vice-rector Artem Malgin addressed new students while Matekub Bakoev, Director, MGIMO-Tashkent, and Umida Khusainova, Coordinator of the ICF’s Representative Office in Uzbekistan, awarded the certificates.

As we wrote earlier, ICF and MGIMO-Tashkent signed a memorandum of cooperation until 2025. As part of this agreement, ICF has already funded the purchase of technical equipment and transport for the university and now funds scholarships for undergraduate students.

Based on the results of the competition, ten undergraduate students were selected to receive scholarships that fully cover tuition fees at MGIMO-Tashkent.

ICF has been supporting MGIMO since its establishment in 1996. Over the past 25 years, the Foundation has been funding a number of scholarship programmes for students with outstanding academic achievements, offering international internships for students and faculty members, and sponsoring research events, conferences and competitions. An important area of the ICF’s cooperation with MGIMO is the support of the university’s publishing activities – funding grants for writing and publishing academic research, purchasing printing equipment, and sponsoring MGIMO’s online information and training resources.

Dr Patokh Chodiev graduated from MGIMO in 1976. He is a member of the MGIMO Board of Trustees, and one of the three founders of the MGIMO Endowment Fund, the oldest and largest endowment fund in Russia.

We congratulate the new scholarship recipients and wish them the best of luck in their studies!
