The traveling exhibition ‘Children of Russia 2021’ opened in Moscow

This week, the traveling exhibition ‘Children of Russia 2021’ opened at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation. As we previously wrote, The International Chodiev Foundation (ICF) sponsors the annual exhibition and a photo competition that draws entries from across Russia. After its first stop in Moscow, the exhibition will then travel to five other regions of the country, and will run from June to November 2021.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Olga Monakhova, Head of the ICF Representative office in Russia, said: ‘It is with joy and excitement that we open the ‘Children of Russia 2021’ exhibition today. ICF has been implementing projects supporting culture, education, children and youth in Russia and other countries for over 20 years. One of the main goals of the Foundation is to support the initiatives of bright, beautiful and talented young people, with the aim of improving the life of the younger generation and our future. Hence,  it is with great pleasure that the Foundation has entered this partnership. There is a lot of beauty and a lot of childhood in this project, and we feel that it is particularly important in these challenging times. The pandemic has forcefully disconnected people, deprived us of normal communication and of the opportunity to travel and discover the world… But with the help of photographers from different parts of our vast country, who depict children of their regions in their spontaneity and their sincere emotions, we are becoming closer to each other’.

‘Children of Russia’ Photo Award is organised by the Russian Guild of Interethnic Journalism and aims to demonstrate the continuity of generations, and the beauty and cultural diversity of the peoples of Russia through traditional costume and photography. The goal is also to raise interest in the revival of folk culture in families. Detailed information about the competition and the exhibition can be found at
